Sam Willing
Chief People Officer
Sam joined Athira in May 2023 and brings a deep level of strategic and operational leadership in Human Resources. Her expertise ranges from start-ups to large companies spanning the hospitality, hi-tech and biotech industries. As Chief People Officer, Sam will be driving culture, operational excellence and strengthening leaders at all levels of the organization through coaching.
Prior to joining Athira, Sam played an instrumental role in building Neoleukin Therapeutics from the ground up as the Senior Vice President of People, where she focused on building a strong HR foundation along with deep culture work around employee engagement and employee experience. Sam has also been an executive coach, speaker and entrepreneur.
Sam received her BA in Business Administration from Washington State University.
